Made Possible.** **MISSION / SUMMARY:** TheHSE and Quality Associate Manageris a key member of the Prosperity Paperboard Manufacturing Division’s team and is responsible for implementing strategic and operational plans to drive both short and long-term objectives and provide world class expertise through demonstrated leadership. The position will also manage related matters to safeguard the health and welfare of all employees, vendors, contractors, visitors, etc. This role reportsdirectly to the Prosperity Paperboard Manufacturing Facility Managerand engages other operations and functions as required. The HSE and Quality Associate Manager supports the global vision, mission, overall goals and objectives and is the key liaison with HSE & Quality leadership. The HSE and Quality Associate Manager will have history of sustained results, leadership, prioritization, coordination and consistent deployment of strategy, customer service and compliance are requirements for this position. Direct responsibilities include HSE regulatory compliance and support with medical and worker compensation groups. The individual works cross functionally and develops relationships to achieve compliance, positive employee and community relations, influences to create a positive HSE & Quality culture and drives results that achieve positive business performance. The individual will influence proactively in a dynamic work environment. Expected results focus on driving a proactive, sustainable, and continuously improving HSE & Quality management system, developing and enhancing employee knowledge, innovating transformation, and performing with excellence. **Key Responsibilities and Job Functions** : Primary job functions include, but are not limited to the following: + Managing various aspects of the HSE program for the Paperboard Manufacturing Facility + Leads compliance programs including OSHA, state, and other federal regulations and maintains comprehensive knowledge of government HSE regulations + Implements plans and delivers results in a fast-changing business and regulatory environment by participating in Paperboard Manufacturing Facility Division HSE initiatives to drive process improvements. + Provides input to Paperboard Manufacturing Facility and departmental strategy + Coordinates, plans, and drives Paperboard Manufacturing Facility HSE Committee reviews and participates and provides guidance and support for Area HSE Team Meetings + Contributes directly to Paperboard Manufacturing Facility priorities and planning + Provides solutions to complex HSE and security issues serving as the HSE leader + Designs, develops, implements programs and oversees the aspects of the Paperboard Manufacturing Facility’s First Responders, OSHA Audiometric and Respirator fit testing, Process Safety Management, and industrial hygiene. + Investigates accidents, develops corrective and preventive actions, promotes HSE-conscious work performance. + Drives hazard identification and risk reduction across the Paperboard Manufacturing Facility + Works closely with OSHA officials, state police, Hazmat, community representatives, and other officials + Manages and documents HSE audits and inspections + Determines HSE training requirements and schedule and provides or coordinates training for employees applicable to their work processes. + Directs and coordinates appropriate, timely and cost-effective delivery of health care related to disability, urgent and emergency care, work limitations, transitional return to work plans, accommodations and part-time work for workers compensation and non-workers compensation illness and injury + Drives compliance maturity with environmental regulations such as Clean Air Act (including Title V Air Program), Clean Water Act (including NPDES and Storm Water Programs), RCRA, TSCA, SARA, etc. + Develop and provide training on key environmental issues, permitting and environmental requirements, and compliance. + Develop and implement environmental guidelines and best practices. + Manage regulatory reporting requirements, permitting processes, and response to regulatory activities, inspections, and citations. + Investigate environmental incidents and develops recommendations to prevent future incidents. + Maintain up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge of federal/state/local environmental laws, EPA regulations, and corporate policies. + Represent the plant at Quality Summits. + Meet and maintain all divisional Quality Process Management objectives as established by GPI. + Serve as the facility contact for customer complaints and customer compliance audits. Maintain reporting systems for internal and external complaints within SAP in accordance with GPI requirements. + Lead efforts on all potential customer complaints. + Direct the development of SPC in both production and Quality Control (QC) areas necessary to maintain a level of process control that meets or exceeds customer expectations. + Communicate plant quality expectations and monitor performance relative to the objectives in a timely and effective manner. + Actively solicit input from all employees to aid in successfully accomplishing the quality expectations. + Shared responsibility for compliance with all facility product safety 5S and Food Safety/Sanitation policies and procedures. Must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of companywide stewardship standards. + Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork). + Analyze specialized systems such as Proficy, SAP. + Maintain Proficy so the system gives correct feedback to lab tech in making quality decisions. + Other duties as assigned. **Background:** + Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related field and 10 years of related experience or Masters of Science Degree in health and safety or related field and 8 years of related experience + Certified Professional, desired + Possesses broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities. + Paper manufacturing experience preferred. **Required Skills:** + Extensive knowledge with Microsoft programs (excel, word, PowerPoint) + Familiarity with HSE data management system (i.e., Gensuite, Intelex, VelocityEHS, Enablon, ProcessMap, EHS Insight, Riskconnect) **SCHEDULE DEMANDS:** + General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. + Up to 25% travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** + Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8+hours. + Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs. + Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. + Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment. **KEY COMPETENCIES:** + Applies advanced knowledge of technical concepts to manage projects and solve complex issues + Influences without authority and can engage peers and other leaders to get results + Manages department operations; supervises others + (Persuades, action oriented, customer focus, drives results + instills trust, decision quality, plans and aligns, self-development **Pay Range:** **$78,450.00** - **$104,600.00** **Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
