The HRIS & Licensing Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the licensing process of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for applicants and Team Members; duties will extend to provide daily support for different functions within the Human Resources department. The HRIS & Licensing Specialist is hands on in the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions, focused on employment processing and ensuring integrity in all data records.

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

Processes new hires through all pre-employment processes and paperwork. Sets up and assists applicants with license application, answers inquiries regarding application. Gathers and files completed paperwork, ensuring that all documents are recorded electronically while ensuring data integrity. Enters all new hires information in systems and tracking spreadsheet for recruiters, trainers and department reviews. Prepares, communicates and scheduled new hires for orientation. Sends confirmation emails and onboarding. Prepares and issues Access Badges. Completes Onboarding of new hires (completes I9s, prints and gathers tax forms and payroll deduction forms). Handles department managers/supervisors inquiries for team member information. Prepares reports when needed utilizing data from HRIS system. Issues replacement access badges to employees (prints badges, submits payroll deduction form). Maintains Human Resources E-mail account. Collaborates with the Benefits and Payroll departments to help ensure consistent communication of payroll and benefit related policies to team members. Assists with recruiting and community outreach at job fairs and employment events. Other duty as assigned.

 

Skills to Help You Succeed:

Skill in operating computers and office equipment.Proficient with using Kronos (UGK) Hiring and Workforce software.Proficient with using MS Word, Power Point and Excel.Proficient oral and written communication skills.Must be able to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.Must have ability to handle stress and problem solving.Must be able to work conscientiously within existing circumstances to ensure quality and accuracy; exercise a strong attention to detail.Must be active, self-motivated, quick learner, and innovative person.Must have excellent communication/ interpersonal skills to build good working relationships.Must be able to work independently or within a team while juggling multiple projects with tight deadlines.Must be able to maintain excellent time management and organizational skills.Must have the ability to be versatile and have decent experience of collection and analysis of complex data, both narrative and statistically.Must have flexibility to work outside of standard office hours as needed.Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.Must have project management skills considering all the aspects of planning, organizing and coordinating the project with stakeholders. Qualifications

 

Must-Haves:

High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer 2-year associates degree and or certification in Human Resources. At least one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a professional high-volume office. At least six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in a human resources or legal department is strongly preferred. At least one (1) year of experience positively interfacing with external and internal customers.  You will be exposed to an alcohol and smoking environment and must be able to work in such an environment. Must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Louisiana Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity as may be required to perform assigned duties, or as required by Live’s operating standards.

Physical Requirements:

24/7 operation requiring extended hours and the ability and willingness to meet the applicant’s schedules when needed. Sitting 70%Walking 25%Standing 5%Keyboarding 50%Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., on an occasional basis.Must be able to climb stairs and walk long distances as needed to access all areas of the facility.Busy, noisy, interruptive office environment.Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
