Job Description

General Motors Europe located in Zurich, Switzerland is seeking to identify a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a HR Manager. You will play a key role in our Switzerland headquarter expansion as well as opening new branches in other European locations, providing direction and leadership that aligns and supports our objectives, mission, and culture. You will partner strategically with assigned business leaders and use people analytics and data to drive engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Influence employee experience in various people processes like onboarding, performance management, development, recognition and offboarding in partnership with the business.Ensure timely, accurate, and value-added delivery of HR services following a customer-centric approach.Provide HR partnership and coaching to managers and employees.Support the monthly payroll cycle in various markets, administer HR-related documents, such as employment contracts and other personnel files and promote local digitalization efforts.Proactively identify and mitigate any conflictual, performance or behavior-related situationsParticipate and support local, regional, and global HR initiatives aiming at the continuous improvement of the HR function, processes, and services.Provide data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs. Participate in projects as an integral member of the extended HR community.This is a broad HR role, focusing on excellence in delivery of regional HR Services, spanning numerous European countries, ensuring continuous improvement, harmonization of local policies with the global process design in partnership with other internal customer groups.Support HR internal controls. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate internal controls and audits are in place.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

Federal diploma in HR (or equivalent) or university education in Human Resources ManagementMinimum 5+ years' experience in a senior HR role, with a track record of successful people management.Languages: Business fluent in English and German. Additional European languages advantageous.Workday competency is an added advantage.Required Competencies: Data judgment, Employee experience orientation, Negotiation, Persuasive communication, Timely problem solving, managing performance, Situational judgment, developing talent, Relationship management, Interview savvy, Coaching, Startup working experience is an added advantage.Solid knowledge of Switzerland labor law, particularly the organization’s legal obligations in employment mattersStrong professional ethics; a sense of initiative; ability to work in a dynamic environment while respecting deadlines.
