HR Generalist- Employee Relations

MRI Software in Cape Town is growing our Talent Operations team! We are seeking a dynamic HR Generalist who will focus primarily on managing Employee and Industrial Relations for our South African employee base of 300+ team members. This role will be part of a global Talent Operations team, with team members in South Africa, United Kingdom, UAE, USA, India, and Australia.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

Act as a point of contact for and collaborate with employees & management regarding workplace-related concerns, complaints, and grievances, and address in a timely and fair mannerInvestigate and resolve employee disputes and conflicts.Monitor and manage the HR email inbox & employee queries in partnership with Talent Ops teamProviding support during the recruitment process.Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture in line with our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiatives that fosters effective communication and employee engagement.Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of IR policies and procedures, and other HR initiatives and systems.Ensure MRI’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies and initiatives are weaved through and demonstrated in our employee relations policies & procedures.

Discipline Management and Dispute Resolution

Assist in administering the disciplinary process, including issuing warnings and ensuring compliance with due process.Coordinate, manage and attend disciplinary hearings and documentation.Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions taken.Mediate disputes and facilitate effective resolutions between employees or between employees and management.Represent the company at the CCMA on external disputes

Compliance

Stay updated with South African labor laws and regulations to ensure the company's compliance with all relevant legal requirements.Develop and conduct IR training to enhance leadership capabilities.Support in the execution of predefined HR Projects and ad hoc duties.

This role is a member of our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Talent team, and will help design & support employee engagement initiatives and other various HR duties not limited to the  above mentioned.

Knowledge and Skills:

4 to 5 years operational experience in Labour Relations and HR GeneralistStrong knowledge of South African Employment Law i.e., LRA, BCEA, EEA, Skills Development Act etc and Health and Safety ActProven track record with CCMA representation and other elements of Conflict ManagementExperience in implementing and drawing up EE PlansDiligent and meticulous attention to detailStrong written and verbal communicationPlanning & Organisational skillsSuperior presentation skillsRelationship –building skillsAbility to work under pressureMaintain strict confidentiality & professionalism

Education

Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management OR Industrial Relations OR Labour Law.
