JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist is a vital part of a dynamic, progressive, interactive, and engaged Human Resources team. The HR Generalist will advise, counsel and assist operations and functional leadership on a variety of HR Related matters with an emphasis on resolving personnel relations matters and supporting key staffing initiatives. In addition, the HR Generalist will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, compliance and recruitment.
The Human Resources Generalist will provide multi-site support to offices throughout the MSI footprint.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment: Full cycle recruiting including job postings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires. May attend job fairs and perform community outreach as needed. New Hire Processing: Draft offer letters, start background checks, and enter data into HR systems. Documentation: Complete form I-9, ensure proper documentation, and process E-Verify. Orientation: Host new hire orientations and explain benefits. Benefits Administration: Assist with enrollments, changes, and open enrollment. Audits: Conduct weekly and monthly audits to ensure system accuracy. Status Changes: Process employee status changes in HR systems. Training: Track employee training, provide reports, and follow up. File Maintenance: Maintain employee personnel files. Badging: Badge employees for access to various customers sites and government agencies. Payroll: Process payroll documents like pay change notices. Policy Issues: Help resolve policy and procedural issues. Employee Relations: Assist leaders with resolving employee issues. Compliance: Ensure adherence to HR policies and laws. Reporting: Track metrics, extract data, and compile reports for distribution. Leave Management: Process and track employee leaves and accommodation requests. Incident Reporting: Report accidents and injuries to necessary parties and take part in the workers compensation process. Engagement Events: Take part in the planning and organizing of employee engagement events. Meeting Support: Take meeting minutes and send follow-up emails. Other Duties: Perform other assigned tasks.Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of HR Generalist as well as recruiting experience required. Certifications: PHR preferred but not required. Ethical and Discrete: Must handle all interactions with care. Industry Experience: Service, construction, manufacturing, or related industry experience preferred. Knowledge: Demonstratable understanding of employment laws and regulations. Conflict Resolution: Ability to handle conflicts and maintain relationships while working within applicable company policies and laws. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-Oriented: Demonstratable attention to detail and organizational skills. Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data, provide recommendations. Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. ERP and HRIS experience is preferred. HR Systems: Experience with HR Information Systems and recruiting platforms. Tech Savvy: Must embrace technology and have the ability to learn new software and processes. Urgency: High sense of urgency and timely project delivery. Energy: High energy level and passion for HR.
