Overview Position Summary: A great opportunity in a great culture at T Marzetti's Allen and Quality Bakery facilities reporting to the Plant Human Resource Manager. Manages Human Resources functions including employee relations, staffing, orientation, benefits administration, payroll, workers compensation, training, safety programs, and compliance to federal, state, and local employment and safety laws and company policies. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: Building Capability: Marzetti Values: Be Perceptive-see work through your customers’ and consumers’ eyes, Winning is just the Beginning, Continuous Improvement Develops, coordinates and conducts knowledge/skill, policy and supervisory training for employees/supervisors Acts as a business partner to plant management team to develop and implement initiatives to support the overall mission of facilities. Oversees HR activities through planning and communication with department managers and supervisors to ensure the overall plant HR objectives are accomplished. Reviews with and advises supervisors and managers on all policy interpretations, disciplinary actions and terminations to ensure consistency and fair treatment. Develop and maintains proactive employee relations programs to maintain non-union status. Participates in associate activities and engagement surveys. Develops and implements successful action plans to address identified disengagement. Talent Acquisition: Marzetti Values: Anticipate Creatively utilizes appropriate channels to establish sourcing pool of talent that generates quality candidates while being cost-effective. In a timely and thorough manner, recruit quality associates. Acquires targeted talent with internal customers utilizing a recruiting strategy to establish expectations. Identify ongoing activity to support succession planning. Other Responsibilities Includes Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies. Compiles and submits information for all required plant/corporate monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Maintains confidential electronic and hard-copy employee data, files and records for the location. Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Qualifications Minimum of bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 3 years of prior experience as an HR supporting internal customers. Prefer experience dealing with complex human resources business challenges, preferably coming from a progressive human resources environment. Experienced working through associate relations issues. Experience supporting internal customers with strong, effective coaching and performance management Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work independently and work with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft office applications, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word PHR/SPHR certification preferred. #LI-ONSITE Competencies Courage Integrity and Trust Interpersonal Savvy Dealing with Ambiguity Decision Quality Approachability Action Oriented Hiring and Staffing Peer Relationships Organizing Self-Knowledge Working Conditions/Environment Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the associate is regularly required to be in attendance at work in accordance with company expectations and guidelines, speak, see, hear, sit, stand, walk, and bend while moving about the facility. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant. Earplugs and hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists), safety glasses, and slip-resistant/steel-toed shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards. Working hours will normally involve first (daytime) shift, but also includes periodic time on second and third shifts, and limited weekend work.
