About This Role
The HRBP position is a key partner to business leadership and responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The role provides consultative coaching and support management in all HR-related areas, identifying and removing barriers to organizational success, and drives continuous improvement within the HR function.
General HR Function & Leadership:
Responsible for implementing and delivering the overall HR function in accordance with the organization’s objectives. Devise clear processes and procedures that are audited and assessed throughout the year, in order to maintain compliance with all relevant people and industry regulations.Ensures compliance within employment law and other legal practices.Manages human resource functions for the designated population including staffing, employee onboarding and offboarding, recognition, training, policies and procedures, workers compensation administration, benefits administration, organization development, employee assistance and payroll administration.Build effective partnering relationships within leaders providing them with support & guidance on all people relevant matters within the designated population and ensure that corporate requirements are met in the implementation of new initiatives.Initiates and champions employee engagement, including wellness.Actively champions and provides guidance / support to leaders and employees on utilizing corporate CAE systems including Workday, Workday Learning, WorkForce, CAEchampions, CAE+me and OfficeVibe.Ensure CAE policies and procedures are kept up to date and in line with employment legislation.Partners with the leaders to proactively identify departmental needs and assists in developing appropriate approaches and processes. Coaches and challenges business leaders to continually lead and develop their teams and place a strong emphasis on the people agenda.Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).Collaborates across HR and other functions to leverage & integrate HR offerings to provide business solutions.Administers annual HR programs (CAE+Me, Annual Reward cycle, workforce planning, performance management, salary administration, etc.) in partnership with Corporate HR groups.Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning for the designated population.Represents HR among the leadership team of the sites and locations served.Participate in Defence & Security International region HR initiatives, including leading projects or teams as required.Any other duties as may be required.Recruitment:
Collaborates with Talent Acquisition team on recruitment process.Partners with managers to understand recruitment needs and retention initiatives for each department.Analyses job design and succession plans for each department in order to support growth and retain talent within organization.Partners with the key stakeholders to complete equity studies, job description creation / updates / analysis process; salary planning within budgetary guidelines.Issues job offers and employment contracts.Employee Relations:
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Handles investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances and work/performance issues while ensuring legal compliance, leveraging employee abilities and managing risk, making recommendations, and taking appropriate action.Unions relationship
Establishes and maintains the relationship with unions, including the negotiations and cooperation on reviews of the benefits scheme and employee relations topics.Change Management:
Supports the business with all change management initiatives that effect employees located at the site, such as restructuring, redundancy, Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations (TUPE), contract changes etc whilst complying with employment law parameters and balancing organizational need; to mitigate risk through the rollout of the process.Effectively partners with centers of excellence, shared services and other organizational resources to provide optimal service delivery to ensure agile business operations.Benefits and Payroll:
Provide guidance to employees on the Company benefit schemes (including Private Medical Insurance, Health Cash Plan, Pension Scheme, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Cycle to Work and Life Insurance) and, when applicable, support with the administration of the schemes.Manage monthly payroll requirements for designated population to ensure pay related information is processed and support monthly benefit submissions that directly relate to payroll.Learning & Organizational Development:
Coordinate annual Learning & Development plans for employees in order to create the Organizational development plan.Design and conduct training initiatives to better upskill employees / managers to further promote line management capability and their own career development.Roll out organizational development initiatives in line with corporate directive and guidelines.Assist the business with adhering to the Investors in People standard and the re-accreditation process.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Broad generalist HRBP experience.Recognized HR professional qualification e.g. graduate of CIPD or equivalent.Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.Experience in handling employee relations cases and performance management issues including capability, disciplinary and grievance.Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR procedures.Good PC skills including being proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and using computerised HR databases (Workday experience desirable).Ability to multi-task with a high degree of versatility and flexibility.Payroll knowledge and experience would be highly desirable.Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communications skills.Influencing and negotiating skills.Ability to analyze and develop solutions to problems related to employees, processes, systems and organizations.Ability to prioritize and produce superior results under deadline pressures.COMPLEXITY AND CREATIVITY – PROBLEM SOLVING:
Work follows established procedures however complex problems do arise and need to be resolved.Some problems have to be solved within tight time constraints.Problems arising on a range of staff related issues involving the practical application of knowledge e.g. procedures and employment law to ensure that the company’s potential liability is minimized.JUDGEMENTS AND DECISIONS – ADVICE:
Expected to generally solve complex HR problems unsupervised.Responsibility for negotiation with internal and external customers.FINANCIAL INFORMATION:
The job holder carries out advisory work relating to the Human Resources budget and other departmental budgets.Company recruitment costs could equate to approximately £50,000 per annum.Deals with Company compensation and benefit plans.May have access to company financial details which are to be treated as confidential.CONTACTS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
Significant communication with a broad range of external contacts including candidates, recruitment agencies, media, other employers, trainers, suppliers of other HR products and services and employment lawyers.Regular internal communication with all levels of staff within CAE, including directors and Vice Presidents.Working knowledge of Italian and English.SPECIAL FEATURES:
Some activities will require travel to other CAE sites in Italy and occasional travel overseas, along with some overtime working.Must be able to obtain or transfer Security Clearance.#LI-DS1
