As an HR Benefits and Compliance Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective administration of employee benefits programs and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will manage various aspects of employee benefits, including enrollment, communication, and coordination with benefits vendors. Additionally, you will ensure that the organization complies with all applicable employment laws and regulations, maintains accurate records, and implements policies and procedures to mitigate risks.  This position requires a strategic thinker who can balance employees' needs with the organization's objectives while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

 

Assist the Benefits and Compliance Manager in the enrollment process for employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits offerings.Serve as employees' primary point of contact regarding benefits-related inquiries and issues.Coordinate with benefits vendors to ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollments, changes, and terminations.Conduct regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance with plan provisions.Develop and maintain benefits communication materials, including employee handbooks, brochures, and online resources.

Compliance

 

Administer the workers' compensation program, including processing claims, coordinating with insurance carriers, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.Serve as a liaison between employees, managers, and insurance providers to facilitate the claims process and ensure timely resolutionProcess requests for verification of employment (VOE) from external parties, such as lenders, landlords, and government agencies, including Friend of the Court and Garnishments.Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations through accurate recordkeeping, timely reporting, and adherence to established policies and procedures.Conduct periodic audits of HR processes and records to identify and address compliance gaps. Qualifications

 

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field2+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits administration and compliance preferred.Strong understanding of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits.Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, particularly benefits and compliance.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems/software.Certification(s) in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or benefits administration (e.g., CEBS) is a plus.
