HR Assistant

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a part-time HR Assistant to join our team in Worcester, MA. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for working with open fulltime and temporary requisitions, onboarding new employees, administering employee benefits, assisting employees with internal database issues, benefits questions, timecard changes and other issues.

 

The hourly rate for this position is $30.00 per hour and will be 24 hours per week.

What you’ll do: Assist with the onboarding process for new employees, including completing necessary paperwork, explaining benefits, and conducting orientation sessions on a weekly basis.  Ensure smooth transition for new hires, introducing them to the company culture and policies.Oversee and administer all aspects of employee leave programs. Including vacation, sick leave, personal leave, applicable federal and state laws, and any other company-specific leave policies.  Work with third party vendors, as needed. Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws regarding leave entitlements and assist employees in navigating the leave process.Communicate with the employees and managers regarding leave entitlements, procedures, and any necessary documentation requirements.Maintain local timekeeping system, update employee information as neededAdministrate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company perks.Provide employees with guidance on benefit options and assist with enrollment processes.Assist in annual company open enrollment.Review and update benefit offerings to ensure they meet the needs of the workforce.Use HR software systems (HRIS, Timekeeping, Benefits Platforms, Etc.) to enter and update employee dataManage the onboarding process, ensuring that all new employees receive the necessary resources, training, and support to succeed in their role.Oversee and administer the company’s benefits programs, ensuring that employees are well informed about their options and assisting with any questions or issues related to their benefits.Utilize HR software to update employee records, track benefits, manage payroll data, and ensure HR systems are accurate and up to date.Basic (Required) Qualifications: Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldThree (3) years experience in Human Resources Assistant roleMust be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the futureNo relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of Worcester, MA. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitationPreferred Qualifications: Three (3) years experience in Human Resources Assistant role in a manufacturing environment; benefits administration, leave management, and employee relations experience.Position Success Criteria: Exposure to employment lawsStrong understanding of labor laws and Human Resources best practices.Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with HRIS, Timecard Software (Kronos) and Microsoft Office applications.Familiarity with HR Compliance.
