Housekeeping Room Attendant

 Guest Room Attendant will be responsible for the overall room cleanliness as well as replenishment of mini bar amenities to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with brand, property, and company guidelines.

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager   

Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Guest Room Attendant will be responsible for the overall room cleanliness as well as replenishment of mini bar amenities to ensure exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with brand, property, and company guidelines. 

Essential Functions 

Clean and sanitize assigned hotel rooms to include: dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, cleaning windows, mirrors, cleaning bathrooms, vents, lobby areas, walls, carpets, light fixtures and common areas such as balconies within shift time requirementsSafely clean rooms with the proper chemicals, adhering to all COVID cleaning protocols outlined by housekeeping leadership. This includes wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE)Acknowledge guest in all public spaces with a warm and friendly greetingPerform quality cleaning to meet the required room inspectionsReplace amenitiesMaintain mini bar selections to par levelsFollow scheduled shifts and follow break and lunch requirementsDeep clean on rotational scheduleRestock and reorganize cart dailyReport any light outages, broken equipment, or room disparities to facilities teamReview daily board and refresh stay over roomsAssist guest with any specials requestsRefill bottled chemicals at the close of the scheduled shift to ensure the next team is stockedAbility to communicate with house attendant on rooms inventory needsCommunicate professionally while using technologyRespect all guests, team members, and management by maintaining a positive, friendly attitudeAbility to interact with guests and share hotel knowledge using personalization such as using the guest’s namePerform turndown service as requested by guestMaintain guest confidentiality following all hotel proceduresReport any suspicious activity or unusual items in roomReport any irregular behavior from guests in public areas and/or in roomAbility to take initiative and handle assignments with limited supervisionFollow all hotel policies and procedures as outlined in the team member handbookMaintain cleanliness and order of work area such as closets, carts, and housekeeping officePerform other duties as management requests to service our guests

 Hotel Performance

Ensure successful performance assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on the GSS according to Marriott.

Qualification Standards

 Education & Experience

High School diploma or higherPrevious hospitality experience preferredExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads 

 Physical Demands

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
