Job DescriptionKey Duties and Responsibilities
As a Houseman, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotel's public areas, both interior and exterior. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and ensuring a lasting impact on our guests' perception of our attention to detail and cleanliness standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
Thoroughly clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, and restrooms, according to established hotel proceduresPerform regular deep cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing, floor waxing, and window washingRespond promptly to guest requests and concerns related to cleanliness and maintenanceOperate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and pressure washersAdhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipmentCollaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure seamless operations and consistent cleanliness standards throughout the hotelReport any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate departmentParticipate in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in cleaning techniques and guest serviceAssist in the set-up and breakdown of meeting rooms, banquet halls, and other event spaces as requiredMaintain and organise storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels are maintainedConduct periodic inspections of assigned areas to identify and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues proactivelySupport the implementation of environmentally friendly cleaning practices and waste management proceduresAssist in the training and mentoring of new housekeeping staff members as neededContribute to the continuous improvement of cleaning processes and procedures by providing feedback and suggestions to managementEnsure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and quality standards in daily operations

Qualifications:
Must have a Full GCE 'O' Level Certificate or equivalentExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleaguesGood verbal and written English communication skillsKeen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standardsPhysical stamina and ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidaysPrevious experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles in a hotel or similar environment preferredKnowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety proceduresAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning techniques and technologiesBasic computer skills for logging and reporting maintenance issuesDiscretion and respect for guest privacyPositive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for guest satisfactionAdditional Information
