Greycoat Lumleys Scotland's client is seeking an experienced Housekeeper for their Private Estate in The Scottish Borders. 

The main property is occupied by the Principals, friend and family when visiting and there are 2 short term rental properties on the estate.  This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Housekeeper who is able to work on their own initiative.  The Principals are at the property for part of their time so communication and understanding their standards is essential to succeed.  As the main representative of the estate is essential to meet guests in a warm manner and to be flexible in your approach.

Duties Include:

Housekeeping for the cottages and main house

Deep cleaning in quieter periods

Ensuring the cottages look welcoming, clean, neat and tidy, including preparing welcome packs etc.

Main house to be ready in a walk in condition at all times

Meeting and greeting guests 

Some administration

Taking deliveries

Arranging for tradesmen and overseeing their work

Shopping for household items for the cottages and the main house

Laundry and ironing

Come train station runs to pick up the Principals

Liaising with letting agencies

Monitoring need for logs and kindling

Notify Principals of any maintenance work to be done on the grounds and properties

Rubbish and recycling removal

Laying the dining table, clearing breakfast things and setting for lunch etc.

Occasional cooking

Liaising with any outside cooks who may be hired to help with meals

Occasional dog-sitting

Start:  March/April 2025

Accommodation:  3 bedroom cottage, Council tax and utility bills are covered by the estate. Live in is essential.

Hours:  25 per week

Salary:  £21,000 GPA
