WE LOVE OUR WORK. Assists in ensuring hotel quality and productivity standards are being met in the areas of housekeeping, laundry and hotel public space.Cleans rooms and public spaces or handles laundry duties as may be necessary.Inspects guest rooms and public spaces to ensure that cleanliness standards and proper amenity and literature placement have been met.Trains all new Housekeeping personnel in all housekeeping procedures and standards.Assists in development and/or updating of standards of service, departmental SOPs and training materials to meet updated departmental needs and to enhance guest experience.Advises hotel leadership of issues related to employee performance.Reports needed repairs, equipment malfunction, or other conditions that cannot be handled appropriately either personally or by other housekeeping staff.Reports, documents and turns in Lost and Found items properly.Communicates effectively with Front Desk regarding room availability & condition.Responds quickly and courteously to guest requests. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.Follows all company/department policies and procedure and SOP’s and communicates them effectively to other housekeeping staff.Thoroughly familiar with all related HAZCOM information, MSDS for any chemicals in use, Blood Borne Pathogen prevention and response. Follows all safety handling procedures. Assists in training and monitoring safe usage and adherence to proper procedures.Familiar with Emergency Procedures and assists in training Housekeeping staff.Presents a professional image at all times through appearance and behavior.Actively participates in hotel meetings, training, programs, etc. BRING US YOUR BEST. Since cleaning and inspecting is a major responsibility of this position, the Housekeeping Trainer spends a significant portion of the workday involved with the following: walking, unlocking, opening, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending and stretching.A significant amount of time is spent listening and speaking since the position is responsible for reporting problems to hotel leadership and training housekeeping staff.In addition to operating a vacuum cleaner, Housekeeping Trainers typically lift and pull items weighing as much as 200 pounds.High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum one-year experience in a training role required.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rooms credits.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.Must possess basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of common business software such as Microsoft Office and Excel. Must possess excellent leadership qualities and patience.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, crawl and lift objects weighing as much as 50 pounds.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
