A Host/Hostess is responsible for making the guest feel at home by extending a warm welcome, assisting the guests to sit and later give them a bid farewell. To assist in all ways to provide the highest degree of guest satisfaction a host/ hostess is concerned with the efficient and professional service of food and beverages, while ensuring guests receive optimum service in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of the Conrad hotel and Hilton Group.

What will I be doing?  

\n

As a Host/Hostess, you are responsible for serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to deliver an excellent Guest experience. A Host/Hostess will also be required to have extensive knowledge of menu offerings. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n

 

\n\nPerform all opening and closing duties, especially handling e-mails and guest communications, responding to all enquiries and special requests.\nAnswer the telephones according to Conrad Hotel standards and have a full understanding of the restaurant operation.\nManage all the reservations and ensure all the reservations are handled swiftly.\nArrange the service flow and seating plan through the restaurant operation.\nGreet guests at the door immediately and seat them comfortably.\nMaintain high standards of conditions of the restaurant through constant inspections, notifying those responsible for any improvements or repairs to be made.\nEffectively handle guest complaints and report to a manager of situation and resolution.\nRespond properly in any hotel emergency of safety situation.\nCoordinate and successfully perform the daily secondary duties.\nPerform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.\nEnsure the grooming standard are being met and maintained, demonstrating a professional image for our guests.\nEnsure that guest satisfaction is monitored and where appropriate, rectified throughout their meal experience.\nBid “farewell” to guests, ensuring guest satisfaction has been reached and to encourage repeat guests.\nGuide our guests in organizing a private event in the outlet.\nCreate a guest database collecting the contact details, guest preferences and feedback from previous visits.\nEnsure streamline communication with the team and guests and achieve consistent results.\nAnticipate, in advance, all materials and supplies and ensure their availability.\nPromote teamwork and foster a harmonious working climate.\nFollow through and constantly update the restaurant guest’s database to be efficient and consistent in relation to regulars and VIPs. \nEnsure all communication are efficiently made in regards to enquiries, groups or daily reservations.\nUpdate and maintain guest profile history. This includes keeping track of Guest birthday, Anniversary to offer to make reservation, if the guest wishes to dine with us.\nEnsure to keep up to date on Competition analysis by keeping track of happening in the city and calling competition on regular basis to update on promotion and pricing.\nTake ownership of the Restaurant and Bar areas in all aspects, including taking guests’ orders and the service of Food & Beverage products.\nBe able to maintain and update computer files whenever needed, including standardized letters, latest menus, etc.\nDiscuss, in advance, any menu changes or daily specials with staff, ensuring knowledge of each.\nRespond properly in any hotel emergency of safety situation.\nPractice Hilton Grooming standards including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene.\nPerform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.\nSet up a proper procedure and maintenance with regards to par-stocks for all menus, beverage lists and wine lists.\nBe fully aware of the reservation procedures and telephone etiquettes according to the Hilton standards.\nEnsure that the telephone system is working properly at all times.\nPerform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Restaurant manager.\nSet up hostesses check lists (daily, weekly and monthly).\n

A Host/Hostess serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

\n\nSenior High School education or specialty in Hospitality.\nPositive attitude and Excellent grooming standards\nGood communication skills (oral and Written)\nCommitted to delivering high levels of customer service\nFlexibility to respond to a range of different work situations\nMaintain high team focus by showing cooperation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.\nMust have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcohol.\nOpen minded and outgoing personality.\nWilling to work for long hours.\n\n
