For more information about the Inn at Perry Cabin, please visit our website at innatperrycabin.com Overview POSITION SUMMARY To ensure all guests are greeted and seated in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures, in accordance with the Inn at Perry Cabin standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Operating “Open Table,” a reservation software program 2. Answering phone calls and responding to guest questions 3. Providing a warm greeting to customers upon entering the restaurant 4. Control heavy volume at restaurant entrance 5. Attend to and anticipate guest needs 6. Familiarization with menu 7. Patron rotation of server sections 8. Escorting guests to proper table 9. Provide a warm, sincere farewell to guests leaving the restaurant 10. Continuous communication with kitchen informing them of cover counts and VIPS SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None Skills 1. Knowledge of hotel property 2. Knowledge of “Open Table” a plus 3. Cleanliness and maintenance of host stand 4. Proper phone etiquette 5. Have knowledge of regular guests and their regular table (s) 6. Multitasking 7. Assist manager with seating chart Host 8. Ability to handle large volumes of people and always remain professional under pressure WORKING CONDITIONS The working conditions described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. They must be upbeat and presentable at all times as they are the first and last impression a guest has of our restaurant. Nightly, the host will have to answer the phone while simultaneously greeting guests entering/leaving the restaurant. Equipment to Be Used • Standard office equipment, including telephone, computer, printer, copier, calculator, fax, and computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Open Table, and email. Physical & Mental Requirements • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. • Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. of at least 30 pounds. • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; some college or vocational course preferred. Prior experience of a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant preferred. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $15.00/Hr. - $15.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
