We are looking for an experienced Hospital and Patient Care Manager to lead our outstanding team in our Dayton location!

The Hospital and Patient Care Manager is a crucial member of the hospital leadership team, working closely with the Medical Director and Hospital Director to ensure exceptional patient care and optimize operational efficiency. This role is vital in maintaining standards of care, ensuring compliance with protocols, and fostering team growth. The Hospital and Patient Care Manager is responsible for leading and developing supervisors and team leads, and maintaining oversight of the clinical departments. The Hospital Manager role demands a dedicated individual who excels in leadership and team development, ensuring that the hospital consistently delivers high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary or clinical operations, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative and proactive workplace culture.Key Responsibilities:
Oversight of Nursing Operations:Monitor adverse event reporting, analyze trends, and follow up with team members as needed.Drive best care practices and create new initiatives and protocols using change management strategies.Collaborate with Medical Directors to create and maintain a database of medical standard operating procedures.Ensure optimal staffing levels in each department daily.Assist with the client complaint process.Oversee Good Sam case management.Clinical Team Leadership:Oversee clinical departmental operations, maximizing team efficiency, organization, and workflow.Provide consistent support, coaching, development, and performance feedback to clinical managers, supervisors, and team members.Strategically plan and oversee scheduling of support teams.Mediate interpersonal conflicts.Hold team members accountable and participate in the corrective action process.Implement strategies to increase team engagement and retention.Oversee the annual review process.Attend and lead team meetings.Financial Oversight:Review hospital WAG data weekly and adjust departmental staffing as needed.Develop and oversee tech labor budgets for all departments.Ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing for clinical team members.Training:Participate in training team meetings and initiatives.Oversee the 30-60-90-day onboarding process.Assist the Clinical Training Manager and clinical team with oversight of new hire training and onboarding.Oversee and support the development of mentors and trainers.Recruitment:Monitor and manage open clinical positions.Initiate initial contact with candidates and conduct initial screening by phone.Facilitate in-person interviews with qualified candidates.Align with department leads, supervisors, and managers on candidate offers, start dates, pay rates and schedules for new recruits.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience:Proven record of accomplishment in Emergency and Specialty Medicine leadership.High level veterinary clinical knowledge and experience.Supervisory knowledge and expertise.Skills:Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills.Strong interpersonal communication and coaching skills.Effective conflict management skills.Proficiency in multi-tasking and problem-solving.Experience in candidate recruiting and onboarding.Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, and practice management software).Schedule, Compensation and Benefits:This is a full-time positionSchedule requirements are flexible to hospital needs80-90K per year, exempt depending on experienceLicense application and renewal reimbursement for RVTs.Comprehensive benefits package: including health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance; flexible spending account; 401(k) with employer match and Employee Assistance Program. 3 weeks of accrued PTOEthos Veterinary Health is at the forefront of innovation and world-class medicine.
