Our team is responsible for Machine Learning solutions for one of the fastest-growing real estate marketplaces, Homes.com, as well as CoStar's industry-leading Real Estate Analytics products. We think big, creating innovative data-intensive applications to improve our customer experience. And we are a collaborative group with a mix of Machine Learning, Data Engineering, API, and Front-End skills, working to create the future of Real Estate marketplaces and analytics. We are looking for a Manager, Machine Learning to join our group and drive the delivery of Machine Learning solutions for Homes.com and CoStar. This role will collaborate closely with other technical leadership, product owners and engineers, while also giving you independence and ownership of your work. As a senior member of the group, you will have the opportunity to drive the technical strategy and architecture of our platform. This position is located in Irvine, CA and offers schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Leading a team in the development and operation of Machine Learning solutions for Homes.com and CoStar products. + Partnering with other engineering teams, product owners, and leadership on shipping great Machine Learning solutions. + Taking full ownership of your team’s work, from development and testing to eventual deployment and operation in production. + Recruiting, leading, and mentoring a high-performing team. + Influencing the technical strategy of our Machine Learning solutions. + Providing hands-on technical guidance to your team. + Fostering a culture of learning and innovation by understanding the latest technologies and techniques in building Machine Learning solutions. + Acting as a trusted advisor in matters of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. + Advocating for evolution and improvement - both technical and non-technical - within our engineering teams. + Gaining a deep understanding of the CoStar business. **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college, with degree preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. MSc or PhD is a plus. + A track record of commitment to prior employers + 3+ years of experience leading a machine learning team. + 8+ years of experience with applied machine learning engineering. + 8+ years of programming experience in Python, C#, Java, or Scala. + Real world experience with Recommendation, Computer Vision, or Text Mining systems. + Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, model training, and evaluation. + Experience with large-scale data pipelines. + Experience collaborating with business and product leaders to solve open-ended problems using Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. + Ability to build and grow a high-performance software development team. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Strong math and analytical skills. + PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS + Experience with databases, such as DynamoDB, AWS RDS, or SQL Server. + Experience solving streaming and batch data processing problems at scale. + Experience with ML cloud tools such as Databricks, AWS Personalize, Rekognition. + Exposure to Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI. + Commercial Real Estate (CRE) knowledge is a bonus. **What’s in it for You** When you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.
