Hog Service Technician| $23-25 DOE

Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM | Overtime Possible Based on Schedule and Emergency Calls

A local agronomy business in the Sioux Center, IA area is seeking a Hog Service Technician to join their growing team! In this role, you’ll assist with daily operations in the hog service department—supporting customers, repairing equipment, and maintaining modern swine facilities. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, training will be provided to help you succeed and grow your career.

 

Responsibilities:

Recommend parts and equipment to customers based on their needs at the How to Build Center. Diagnose service issues and determine the best solutions for repairs. Repair or replace faulty parts and equipment in swine facilities. Collaborate and communicate with the service team and share information across the organization. Use tools for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs, with knowledge of modern hog facility systems (ventilation, feeding/watering, heating). Experience in swine facility systems preferred, but training is available.

Requirements:

Strong customer service focus, with a positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Mechanical skills and experience operating mobile equipment; able to perform maintenance tasks and handle unloading/loading trucks and moving equipment. Commitment to safety by following all safety policies and procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Dependability and strong work ethic, with the ability to meet goals, deadlines, and work as part of a team. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and occasionally work around livestock. High school diploma or GED, along with an approved safe driving record preferred.
