JOB SUMMARY

The Histotechnician 1 prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation and diagnosis by performing technical procedures that result in creation of microscopic slide preparation. Operates and maintains Laboratory instrumentation, records and documentation with minimum supervision.

\n\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\n\n\tPerform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.\n\tFollow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.\n\tPerform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.\n\tMaintain appropriate inventory of supplies.\n\tMaintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.\n\tParticipate in laboratory projects and educational activities.\n\tDemonstrates and educates laboratory practices and technical skills to others.\n\n\n
