Under the direction of a pathologist or a qualified medical professional, prepares human tissue and bodily fluid specimens by treating the specimens with chemicals, slicing and mounting on glass slides for microscopic examination and analysis by the pathologist.  Preparation process may include sectioning, reagent and other treatment, slide placement, and dying. Places specimens using fixation, dehydration, clearing and/or impregnation by embedding, in a suitable media. Uses judgment to adapt for tissue types, uses chemicals and dyes to stain sections in order to demonstrate various pathological conditions.

Weekly pay Day shift (10am- 6:30pm) Rotating week ends and holidays MUST have 2 years of experience in a supervisor role MUST have histology. or Tissue Analysis Technician 

Responsibility:

Acts as a Technical Consultant and a Section Supervisor in the Anatomic Pathology section. Plans, coordinates, and ensures the effective operation in the Histology section. Monitors and approves workflow changes and staffing levels. Delegates responsibilities when needed. Provides consultation to licensed care providers, administration, and other laboratory staff when needed. Performs timekeeping and scheduling of staff. Monitors breaks, documents overtime, and approves timecard. Reports any Industrial Accident and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests. Supervises and reviews the work of staff. Provides instruction, professional guidance, and expertise when needed. Performs or delegates staff training and competency assessment. Assesses and recommends retraining when needed. Evaluates staff performance and reports findings in a timely manner. Counsels staff, documents, and enforces disciplinary action when needed according to regulations, policies, and procedures. Selects, recommends, and ensures that the test methodology is appropriate for clinical use and verifies the test procedures performed are precise and accurate for each test and test system. Develops, reviews, implements, revises, or retires policies and procedures. Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and workshops. Minimum Requirements:
