The HIS Processor II, under minimal direction, is responsible for performing a variety of duties including locating, retrieving, scanning and delivery of medical records for patient care and retrieving medical record documentation from electronic document management systems.

Responsibilities Contributes to teamwork and follows established department and Institute policies and procedures.Processes, prepares, sorts, and scans medical record documents into the document management system within specified time frames while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations.Analyzes the patient health record to identify misfiled or mislabeled documents, making certain all documentation scanned is in the appropriate patient’s medical record.Accesses various manual and computerized systems to accomplish job duties. Verifies patient medical record numbers.Periodically is assigned special projects and related duties. May be required to assist in other areas of department as determined by departmental needs.Consistently meets and exceeds departmental productivity standards.Maintains scanning hardware by performing daily cleaning and escalates any issues as necessary.Reports site-based operational issues to Team Lead and/or Manager.Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience:
3 years of HIS processor experience in a health care setting required. Computer, data entry and experience working with a high degree of detail.
License/Certification/Registration:
None
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are straightforward.Ability to respond appropriately to instructions, questions or request for information.Self-motivated, proactive in communicating progress and issues, able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize workload. Ability to act professionally to ensure that PHI is kept confidential.Proved track record of strong attention to detail.Proficient experience using medical information systems – Epic a plus.Proficient in accessing and functioning in multiple computer systems.Communicates a thorough knowledge of the confidentiality and privacy laws established by Federal and State guidelines and adhere to DFCI and departmental policies.Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.Strong interpersonal skills to include excellent oral communication skills along with the delivery of exemplary customer service.Work requires sorting documentation, sequentially by numbers, dates, and types.
