Summary:
This lead position oversees daily operations of the document imaging and centralized fax queue teams. This role will ensure that records are processed accurately, timely, efficiently, and in compliance with all organizational policies and work instructions. This is a working lead position, meaning the individual will actively participate in daily operational tasks while providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to the team.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinates team schedules, assignments, and workflow to ensure adequate and balanced coverage; approves PTO requests on the department calendar.
· Monitors team performance and provides coaching, training, and feedback as needed.
· Identifies and addresses bottlenecks, errors, or delays in processes; collaborates with stakeholders to improve and/or optimize the workflow.
· Facilitates regular team meetings to educate and ensure effective communication of changes or updates.
· Develops and maintains all training guides and education resources.
· Serves as a trainer, education resource, and escalation point for team questions.
· Collaborates with leadership to ensure quality and accuracy of work performed by the team.
· Assists in defining team goals and performance metrics; regularly monitors progress of goals and reports outcomes to leadership.
· Acts as a liaison with vendors utilized.
· Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications required:
· High School Degree or equivalent
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
· 2 years’ experience in healthcare, preferably in medical records
Qualifications preferred:
· Meditech EMR experience
· Medical terminology course
· Associates’ degree in health information management or related field
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
