ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s growing New England Transportation group is seeking a Highway/Roadway Project Manager
In this position, you would be responsible for the management of transportation engineering projects covering roadways, bikeways, and utility design. Duties include overseeing traffic engineering, stormwater management, drainage, temporary traffic control, traffic signals, construction observation, cost estimating and construction administration. Our team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with a sustainable, context-driven and integrated project delivery mindset. Our clients include local municipalities, MassDOT, DCR and other state public transportation agencies, and private partners who support the development of the places we live, work, recreate and learn.
Responsibilities:
Managing large multi-disciplinary highway reconstruction projects, both traditional bid-build and alternate delivery (Design-Build, PPP, etc.)Working with Contractors for the delivery of Design-Build projects.Training / mentoring junior staff in various aspects of highway design.Assisting with the production and delivering transportation projects through the construction administration phasePre-design project planning and financial managementDesign of highways and roads including the development of geometric layout, grading, and drainage, working with utilities, and environmental permittingDevelopment of technical design and specification documentsQualifications:
BS in Engineering required11+ years required, 15+ years preferred of roadway experience, with at least 5+ years of experience managing highway design projectsCurrent PE in Massachusetts or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Massachusetts PE license within six monthsOur team works a flexible hybrid schedule, with the option to work from any of our MA office locations.We are VHB!
