GPI is seeking a full-time Highway Design Engineer for our growing Transportation Group in Philadelphia, PA.  We are looking for individuals ready to work collectively with a multi-discipline team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Projects involve varying types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs with a focus on ‘complete streets’ style projects. Responsibilities: 

Thorough understanding of geometric design of highways and streetsComfortable taking a lead role in the design and development of Plans, Specifications and Estimates for transportation projectsExperience with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and PA municipal clientsAbility to develop plans from conceptual design to final horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocationsUnderstanding of construction as it relates to developing temporary traffic control and construction staging plans

Qualifications: 

Minimum 4 to 8 years of highway engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be consideredBS in Civil Engineering required; focus in Transportation or Land Development preferredEIT and PE are a plusExperience with PennDOT and/or PA municipal clients is a plusProficiency Using MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads
