ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Albany, NY office is seeking a Highway Design Engineer to support our growing transportation practice. The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public and private projects with exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with sustainable, context-driven and integrated project delivery approach. Responsibilities

Producing and delivering transportation projects through the construction administration phasePre-design project planning Design of highways and roads including development of geometric layout, grading and drainageManaging the development of technical design and specification documents

Skills and Attributes

Ability to handle multiple concurrent projectsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsTraffic signal design experience a plusOpen Roads and/or Civil3DStormwater analysisConcept through final design plan development

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required Minimum of 1-3 years design engineering experienceProficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCADExperience with/exposure to NYSDOT and municipal roadway improvement projects is preferredEIT preferred

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Albany, NY is $69,000-$76,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
