Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print    QUALIFICATIONS: • Demonstrated successful coaching experience and/or participation in the sport for which applying • Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques of the specific sport • Demonstrated successful personality and character traits appropriate to educational leadership • Demonstrated ability to teach, enforce, advocate and model appropriate behavior, character traits and educational values to students-athletes • Demonstrated ability to teach, organize and supervise assistants • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a successful disciplined program • Demonstrated ability to work with parent groups, administrators, staff and students • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain positive communication with the community • Ability to follow the National Federation of High School Coaches Code of Conduct and California Interscholastic Federation Coaches Code of Conduct RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plan and implement the scheduling of team activities, tryouts, practices, game plans and summer activities • Responsible for completing and submitting requests for Transportation in a timely manner • Follow district policies, site procedures, CIF rules and the CIF Coaches Code of Ethics • Foster training in conduct, ethics and sportsmanship for all participants and coaches • Supervision of the team before, during and after practices, games and sporting events • Verify that the Athletic Director clears each team member before allowing him/her to tryout or practice • Responsible for distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment and providing an end of the season inventory • Work with the Athletic Director and the Principal to solve problems at the school level while supporting the ideas of the program/parent concern procedures • Continually review the ongoing effectiveness of the program at all levels Requirements / Qualifications

CPR/First Aid Requirement: Beaumont Unified School District (BUSD) has approved the CPR and First Aid courses offered at the website listed below. At the end of each course, the applicant is to print out the completion certificate and attach them to their BUSD coaching application. www.redcross.org/ - Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Online CIF Coaching Certification: All applicants must complete a CIF-approved coaching certification course through the NFHS website. At the end of the selected course, the applicant is to print the completion certificate and attach it to their BUSD coaching application. National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) http://www.nfhslearn.com 1. Go to “Courses” tab on the top index bar 2. Scroll down to select the “Fundamentals of Coaching” course (select CA) 3. Add to cart and complete course (CURRENTLY $50.00) Concussion - Heat Illness – Sudden Cardiac Arrest: All applicants must complete the NFHS Concussion, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses on the NFHS website at www.nfhslearn.com. On the site, click on “Courses”, and each course is under the “Courses” tab. Each course is FREE and takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. It is now mandatory for all coaches to have these courses completed every two (2) years. Upon completion, please also print out each certificate and attach to the application.
