We are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team located at our Gillingham depot.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off nights

Hourly Rate: £15.04 per hour and weekly pay plus £95 weekly shift allowance

Duties and Responsibilities

Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently

Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy - all daily checks are completed in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check Sheet’ and in line with the 'Guide to maintaining road worthiness'. To ensure any vehicle defects are reported

Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.

Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs

Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law

Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits

Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle

Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print

Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport manager attention if necessary

To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five-year period

What are we looking for?

At least two years Class 1 driving experience & Valid Class 1 license

Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC

Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations and comfortable with night shifts

Excellent communication skills

Numerical and focused on accuracy

Strong attention to detail and ability to operate tail lift and PPT when required
