Job Summary:
CBLPath, a division of Sonic Healthcare USA, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hematopathologist to join our expanding, sub-specialized pathology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive interpretation of hematologic diseases through integrated diagnostics, including morphology, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular diagnostics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS). This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment that emphasizes diagnostic precision and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic interpretation and sign-out of hematologic specimens including bone marrow biopsies, lymph nodes, peripheral blood smears, and body fluids.
Integrate multimodal data from histopathology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics (FISH/karyotyping), molecular diagnostics, and next-generation sequencing panels.
Provide consultative support to clinicians and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards.
Review and interpret results from molecular assays including PCR-based testing and NGS-based panels for hematologic malignancies (e.g., myeloid and lymphoid gene panels).
Contribute to the development, validation, and implementation of new molecular and NGS assays in collaboration with the molecular diagnostics team.
Engage in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and laboratory compliance activities.
Support education and training initiatives within the division, including mentoring junior staff and participating in CME efforts.
Qualifications:
MD or DO with board certification in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology.
Board certification or board eligibility in Hematopathology.
Additional training or experience in molecular pathology or NGS-based diagnostics is highly desirable.
Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of practice.
Strong foundation in integrating morphology with advanced diagnostics including molecular and NGS technologies.
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Minimum of 1–3 years of post-fellowship experience preferred; new graduates with strong training in molecular/NGS are encouraged to apply.
Salary minimum to max is $350K to $4254K. Pay is commensurate with experience and subspecialty training; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
