Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR/EVALUATOR - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2460P01 and is part of the KY AASF, National Guard. ***NOTE: Current On-board applicants (AREA 1, TITLE 32 employees) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure.*** Responsibilities As an HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR/EVALUATOR - TITLE 32, GS-2181-13, you will serve as a rotary wing Instructor Pilot. Train and evaluate aviators on flight techniques and procedures. Conduct standardization flight evaluations for air crew members and annual evaluations for assigned pilots. Serve as pilot-in-command to perform airlift support. Flights may be performed with a combination of day, night, and night vision goggle (NVG) operations under favorable and unfavorable conditions or terrain. Perform preflight weather analysis, route and altitude selections, alternate airport selection, fuel, cargo and passenger load computations, selection of refueling stops, preflight inspections, flight plan filing, and firing ranges route planning/coordination. Serve as an Aviation Mission Survivability Officer (AMSO) Tactical Operations (TACOPS) Officer. Manage the Aviation Mission Survivability (AMS) program. Determine AMS capability gaps. Verify Mission Configuration of Aircraft Situational Awareness systems. Integrate AMS into unit training plans. Conduct AMS planning. Manage the Target, Track, and Locate (TTL) systems. Conduct Personnel Recovery (PR) training and manage the Aviation PR program. Conduct Army Aircraft Combat Damage Collection and Reporting. Determine Aviation Survivability Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP). Conduct Threat and Survivability Tactics training. Assess Aircrew Tactics tasks as a Unit Trainer (UT). Manage the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) Training. Conduct Joint Operations training. Integrate Army Aviation into Joint Operations. Integrate Army Aviation into the Joint Targeting Process. Coordinate airspace in support of aviation operations. Manage Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: W3 (CW3) - W4 (CW4) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is located on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must be UH-60M Instructor Pilot qualified Must attend the Instructor Pilot Course and meet qualifications IAW AR 95-1. Must attend the Aviation Mission Survivability Officer Course and meet qualifications IAW AR 95-1 within 12 months of appointment. This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Signing of a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program) acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position. Individuals not currently occupying a DoD TDP position must successfully complete a pre-appointment drug test prior to being placed into this position. Incumbent must possess and continue to maintain a US Army Class II Flight Physical. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Must possess appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificate OR must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months operating a specific main-frame military aircraft: UH-60, mission planning, and mission preparation. Experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information. Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experience conducting/supervising training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures. Must be UH-60M Instructor Pilot qualified to be considered qualified at the GS-13 level. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates (Example 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981 or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981), work schedule, and hours worked per week of employment.
