Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Heavy Machinery Mechanic - pay based on verifiable experience
Experience repairing cranes and front loaders
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing and completing regular and preventive maintenance requirements of equipment, machines, and vehicles.
Perform emergent repairs on equipment and vehicles that break down during the course of the day as schedule and skill set allows.
Maintain and repair equipment to ensure equipment is compliant with the manufacturer’s requirements and all government regulations, including OSHA and DOT.
Schedule and perform all oil changes on all equipment based upon hours of use and/or date as required by the manufacturer. As oil changes are performed, samples must be sent off to be analyzed.
Maintain complete and accurate records for all maintenance and repairs performed.
These records must include:
Equipment hours
Who performed the work
What specifically was done
What parts were sourced
The warranty for any parts and services
Any additional repairs that will be required
Control downtime by coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor or General Manager and communicating with the operators of a routine preventive maintenance schedule.
Conserve maintenance resources by recommending cost-effective, high-quality parts and/or services as needed to accomplish the expected job results.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company and all regulatory rules and standards.
Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor and get approval before contracting any major repairs or sourcing any parts outside of those needed for normal maintenance and repairs.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license so as to pick up parts and supplies as needed
Communicate with maintenance assistant on upcoming tasks, assistance needed, and special instructions or directives for jobs.
Maintain and ensure compliance of the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program as required by the company and OSHA.
Ensure that all repairs (equipment and vehicle) are made in accordance with acceptable Code regulations, OSHA standards, DOT standards, and all Becker policies, standards, and procedures.

Troubleshooting equipment failures experience
· Torch experience
· Experience servicing equipment (ex. Forklift, excavators)
· Trailer Repairs
· Reading Schematics
· Truck air conditioning repair
· Air brake repairs
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to:
· Walk/Move on flat surfaces, equipment, and rugged outdoor terrain
· Climb ladders and stairs
· Lift up to 75 pounds
· Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to get to low lying and underneath equipment and machines.
· Use fine motor grasping skills and hand-eye coordination to manipulate tools and may use repetitive motions of the fingers, hand, and wrist
· Perform tasks that require both close vision and distance vision proficiency.
· Work in outdoor weather conditions
· Wear any and all Personal Protective Equipment required to perform the task in a safe and effective manner.
