We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Traveling Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing on-site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy machinery and equipment at various job sites across the region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy equipment mechanics, be comfortable working independently, and be ready to travel to various locations as needed.

This travelling position is based in Grand Junction, Colorado and requires significant travel. The typical travel rotation is Monday-Friday, with overtime/weekends as needed.
Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of heavy equipment for our teams all over your assigned region.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose equipment issues on-site.Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.Provide emergency repairs and make recommendations for parts and service needs based on equipment diagnostics.Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment status.Communicate effectively with customers, site managers, and internal teams to provide updates on repair progress and equipment status.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing duties on job sites.Provide training and guidance to on-site personnel regarding basic maintenance and equipment care.Travel to various job sites, sometimes requiring overnight stays, and work in diverse conditions. Covering everything west of Mississippi and Canada when necessary. Travel between 25% and 100% of the time QualificationsRequired Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or related field.Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment systems including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and heavy equipment repair equipment.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Ability to travel up to 100% of the time.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in the field.Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment, work in varying environmental conditions, and handle physical demands of the job.High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, or heavy equipment repair a plus (e.g., ASE certification).Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of heavy construction equipment and repair experienceExperience working on railway equipment5+ years of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting experienceCDL Driver's license strongly preferredLicensing/certification as a mechanicBenefits:
