Job Description
The primary function of this role is to overhaul, repair and maintenance of all mechanical components of Heavy machineries we use at our granule production plant. This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and must comply with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment. This position is part of the IAMAW, Lodge 692 (Union), and as such the successful candidate will be required to join and be subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Plant Description IG Machine & Fibers Ltd. at the Ashcroft is a production facility that processes, color, and ship granules used for the roofing shingle.Plant Location IG Machine & Fibers Ltd.3745 Barnes Lake Rd, Ashcroft, BCWhat’s in it for you? Record repairs and maintenance performedMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededOur ideal candidate:Must have a valid British Columbia Industrial Mechanic LicenseHaving a full set (up to 24/1”mm) of metric standard tools is an assetExposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cuttingHaving prior experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantageMust be able to read mechanical drawingsMust be able to work shifts as well as some extended hours and weekendsQualified applicants will have good interpersonal and problem-solving skills and will be able to work with other trades and operatorsMust be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basisMust be able to walk and/or stand 50-75% of the shiftHours/ Days / Schedule:The hours of work will be primarily Wednesday through Saturday {40 hours, day shift}.IKO Industries Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer.
