Job Summary

What is the Opportunity?

The Healthcare Investment Banking Associate provides analytical, research and transactional support to investment bankers within the Not-for-Profit (“NFP”) healthcare group. This particular position will support M&A and strategic advisory services for health system clients, which include the 75-100 largest health systems throughout the U.S. The NFP Healthcare group provides a complete range of investment banking and advisory services including M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic advisory services. The NFP Healthcare Group has deep sector knowledge and expertise across a broad continuum within healthcare services, including: hospitals & health systems, home health & hospice, alternate site services, managed care, and physician services, among others.

What will you do?

Perform and review financial valuation, discounted cash flow and comparable companies multiples-based valuation analysesBuild and use financial modelsPrepare pitch books and live deal materials, such as confidential information memorandumsConduct industry research on healthcare sub-sectorsAnalyze detailed corporate and financial informationParticipate in the execution of M&A transactions, including active participation in due diligence effortsProactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business.Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities.Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly.Other such duties, responsibilities and authority as may be reasonably required

What do you need to succeed?

BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative/analytical area of study, with demonstrated record of high achievement.Graduate degrees in these disciplines and professional certifications such as CFA are considered a plus.2-5 years of related professional investment banking and/or “Big 4” consulting/advisory experience.Experience in the areas of healthcare services and/or not-for-profit healthcare are considered a plus.Obtain and maintain Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE), Series 52, 63 and 79 licensesQuantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance, particularly with respect to accounting and corporate finance.Experience with discounted cash flow, LBO, and/or Merger modeling are considered a plus.Advanced Excel skills are considered a plus.Highly motivated, committed and responsible, with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships at all organizational levelsStrong oral and written communication skills.Ability to take initiative and function independently balanced with strong teaming skills.Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct

The good-faith expected salary for the above position is $160,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
