Job Description
Join a leading healthcare facility in Washington, D.C., as a Healthcare Construction Superintendent. This role focuses on modernizing the infrastructure to improve patient care by upgrading key areas such as operating rooms and patient wards with advanced technology and sustainable design. Your contributions will help create a more efficient and patient-centered environment while minimizing disruptions to ongoing medical services.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and oversee work activities with a basic understanding of all project operations.
+ Promote a quality and safety culture among the team, partners, and trade contractors.
+ Assist with subcontractor scheduling and coordination, quality control, project and look-ahead schedule review, and administration of the Request for Information process.
+ Supervise and lead safety measures in all areas for all trades and perform audit checklists.
+ Maintain knowledge of materials required to sustain safety efforts and coordinate procurement through field office staff.
+ Produce and distribute Daily Reports accurately.
+ Oversee correct installations based on contract documents and shop drawings/submittals.
+ Assist in the implementation and ongoing execution of the Quality Assurance Program.
+ Participate in job site subcontractor and Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings to stay abreast of schedule and potential changes to the work.
+ May be assigned as the sole Superintendent for small projects or during off-hour shifts on larger projects.
+ Possess a strong desire for continual improvement in Construction Management, relationship building, dispute resolution, and communication skills.
+ Schedule work activities by producing look-ahead schedules and updating or creating the project master schedule.
Essential Skills
+ Five to ten years of commercial construction experience as a superintendent with experience leading a healthcare project of at least $10MM in value.
+ Experience with construction projects in a clinical/main hospital setting.
+ Progressive experience in skilled trades, Construction, and Construction Management.
+ Quality control and OSHA compliance.
+ Experience with federal construction and USACE standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ OSHA 30-Hour certification.
+ First-Aid/CPR certification.
Work Environment
The majority of the work will be completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer, where you will monitor the project and make daily decisions about construction activities. The role often involves exposure to loud noises, such as construction equipment, and requires the wearing of protective equipment including hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing. There will be one day shift on the healthcare project, and the position has a high urgency due to a team member moving off the project
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
