POSITION SUMMARY
The Health & Value (H&V) Lead will be responsible for the SSA Markets: Southern Africa, East Africa and West Africa. This role will lead the Market Access activities in the SSA cluster such as pricing, reimbursement, health outcomes and patient outcomes responsibilities, as well as lead the H&V team to operate according to Pfizer Leadership principles and company values, ensuring compliance in all such activities.
The H&V Lead will enhance Pfizer’s presence in all the SSA markets and expand product offering in order to maximize value/access to patients, payers and to Pfizer. This role will require close coordination with customers to maximize the full potential and solution offerings, leverage strong market access experience to drive business objectives within the matrix organization, while providing a tremendous level of growth opportunity. This role will require continuous partnership and collaboration with Finance, Global Manufacturing/Logistics/Supply, Regulatory, Public Affairs and Commercial Leaders in-country, regional and at the Global level.
The H&V Lead will also be responsible to build effective teams within the H&V function by blending people into teams; create strong morale and team spirit; share wins and successes; foster open dialogue; let people finish and be responsible for their work; define success in terms of the whole team agenda; create a feeling of belongingness in the team while managing a diverse team in an inclusive manner.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is accountable to ensure that market access strategies are appropriate for all the SSA markets and aligned with Global and Regional strategiesEnsure market access plans are successfully optimized and implemented across all Therapeutic areasCoordinate execution of access plan and ensure successful execution of launch strategies for new productsDrive recommendations for all SSA markets regarding price and reimbursement for the entire portfolio.Drive innovative pricing agreement execution across SSA.Drive exchange of best market access practices across countries and provide country support (incl. Training on all aspects of MA such as pricing, health economics, advocacy and negotiation)Ensure high quality and transparency on operational aspects of Market Access, i.e. price monitoring, reference pricing, reimbursement trends, etc.Participate in leadership team decision making on Market Access Strategy related decisions.Act as a single point of contact for support requests for all the SSA markets and link coordination of business updates and requirements to the regional and global teams.Work hand in hand with Public Affairs, Regulatory, Medical and Key account management teams to ensure winning access strategies for Pfizer assets.Proactively monitor external environment, customers and competitors to identify opportunities for improving access and mitigation of risks to our current conditions.Responsible for stakeholder mapping and engagement related to pricing, access and health outcomes.:Lead and / or contribute to payer research & relevant customer and competitor insightsSupport developing innovative access schemes or partnerships with payers to reach new patient segmentsDevelop & optimize payer/customer value proposition & pricing policy in accordance with payer requirementsAdvise SSA leadership team with realistic pricing and access risk & opportunity assessments to inform commercial strategies, including commercial development & disease area strategyDefine and ensure effective implementation of Patient outcomes strategy in the SSA markets together with country T&C team and align with regional and Global Patient outcomes Organization.Responsible to lead, direct and coach Market Access team membersResponsible for the enhancement of the engagement of team members and collaborate with the peer managers and directors to implement the agreed upon plan of actionEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare sciences (or equivalent)Business Management degree and Health Economics experience is an advantage10 years of successful Pharmaceutical experience including relevant experienceA minimum of 3 – 5 years in Access / Patient outcomes / pricingA minimum of 3 years in people managerial capacity, preferably in Market Access and or related functions.TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
