The Health and Safety Coordinator position is a seasonal position located in Yellowstone National Park. If you love the outdoors and like to explore, our operations stretch over 2.2 million acres of breathtaking scenery, amidst steam, geysers, trout streams, magnificent wildlife and more. This position reports directly to the Director, Risk Management. This position is responsible for performing safety evaluations and inspections of government owned facilities assigned to Xanterra Parks & Resorts, in Yellowstone National Park, and for performing periodic safety inspections of maintenance and industrial trades areas and construction project worksites to ensure adherence to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire, Life Safety and NEC Codes, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and National Park Service guidelines and/or regulations. Responsible for conducting Parkwide site assessment surveys of exterior environments within Xanterra’s land assignments. Responsible for conducting Parkwide site assessment surveys of exterior environments within Xanterra’s land assignments. Responsible for oversight of the Hearing Conservation Program in assigned areas, including coordinating and scheduling audiometric testing each season, follow-up and documentation of the requirements for Standard Threshold Shifts, and for managing the HCP billing process. Conduct incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions in assigned areas. Assist in the review of Xanterra’s renovation or construction project design plans, contract agreements and contractor safety plans for compliance with OSHA regulations and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code. Attends project meetings in assigned areas. Conduct, coordinate, or assist in training Emergency Response Guidance(ERG), First Aid/CPR/AED, and hands-on safety training/practical assessment for maintenance and industrial trade employees, which includes but is not limited to: Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Genie Lift, Lead, Asbestos and Respiratory Protection. Coordinates safety training schedules with appropriate department directors or managers and maintains records of safety training. Provides oversight of the Radon Program, coordinates testing, maintains database of testing records. Coordinate, or assist with the Accident Reduction Incentive Program (ARIP) in assigned areas. Conduct, coordinate, or assist with noise monitoring and other industrial hygiene monitoring or sampling as required or needed utilizing instrumentation and documentation to comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards, and assist with and coordinate the Job Safety Analysis program, personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments and ergonomic assessments as required by OSHA and other regulatory authorities. Responsible for working in coordination with the Parkwide Safety Committee, including but not limited to: participation in committee meetings, submittal of health and safety recommendations, etc. Responsible for CPR/FA/AED inventory in assigned areas and ordering of training supplies. Responsible for performing and/or assisting with respiratory fit testing in accordance with the company respiratory program Performs other duties as required. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have bachelor’s degree in related field. Must have a current and valid driver’s license at the time of employment and maintained during employment. Must have good oral communication and interpersonal skills- Must have experience using computers and experienced in Microsoft Office Suite Must be willing to acquire knowledge in the various applicable OSHA and NFPA codes. Must be capable of performing safety evaluations and inspections in a positive and professional manner, assisting with correction of deficiencies when possible. Must have strong organizational skills. Must have ability to work with minimum supervision to complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner. Must be a team player with the ability to enforce company safety practices and code compliance in a positive and professional manner. Must comply with the OSHA and NFPA codes, standards, and regulations. Must be willing to acquire First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certifications. Physical Requirements include: Must be capable of lifting objects up to 40 pounds. Must be capable of carrying objects up to 40 pounds. Must be capable of walking or sitting (estimated eight to ten hours per day). Must be capable of frequent bending (estimated two hours per day).
