THE OPPORTUNITY:
As a member of Hub San Diego’s Health & Performance (H&P) Consulting Team, the role will be responsible for supporting the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of Hub’s H&P Consulting Model. Under the direction of Hub San Diego’s Employee Benefits Practice Leader, the H&P Consultant will provide client consultation including the development of multi-year wellbeing strategies, execution roadmaps, data evaluation, wellness program compliance knowledge & guidance, incentive strategy development and will be able to provide recommendation(s) on appropriate carrier and vendor solutions. This role requires exceptional client and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
Works with account teams and clients to develop wellbeing strategies and programs that align with the client’s business and benefit strategy, objectives, and budget.
Conducts wellbeing discovery meetings with clients to understand their goals & objectives and stratify the client’s needs according to Hub’s H&P Consulting Model.
Develops client presentations / slides, strategic frameworks, and execution roadmaps for wellbeing programs.
Educates clients on proactive health promotion strategies and programs to improve workforce well-being and productivity.
Conducts RFIs / RFPs for wellbeing / wellness vendors and facilitates client evaluation, vetting & selection of vendors.
Works closely with wellbeing / wellness vendor partner(s), carriers and TPAs to implement resources / platforms / programs that serve each client’s goals and help them evolve over time.
Fosters and maintains positive, effective, and long-term client/customer relationships. Gains a keen understanding of clients’ culture, population & organizational goals to recommend appropriate programs and resources.
Guides clients in utilizing assessments such as the HERO scorecard to gain insight on best practices & identify gaps / opportunities to improve impact of their wellness strategy.
Analyzes aggregate population health data to identify top health risks, develop an overarching picture of program success and deficits and present recommendations for how to address to clients.
Makes recommendations for overall wellness program incentive design to maximize enrollment and engagement.
Assists client with developing program plan of targeted focus areas, initiatives, and communications to promote wellness.
Provides strategic/operational guidance to clients as needed throughout the year, staying in regular contact with the client, updating action-items and ensuring the program deliverables are on task.
Stays informed of trends, developments and legislation in the wellness and care management field to make recommended changes and help ensure compliance for clients’ programs.
Collaborates with Health & Performance team nationally to further the practice charter, develop shared content and drive practice innovation.
Continually fosters innovation, and gains industry insight through involvement in industry-related associations and organizations.
Builds relationships internally and externally and collaborates effectively on cross-functional teams.
Demonstrates effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels.
Stays current with wellness legalities and understands implications for wellness programming.
Stays abreast of wellbeing trends and emerging vendors; helps to identify areas / vendors for further research and evaluation.
Factors for Success:
BA/BS degree from accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in corporate wellness or related field.
Preferred: Candidates with insurance brokerage or carrier/TPA wellness consulting experience. Strong understanding of business wellness concepts, best practices, program compliance and procedures. Certified Wellness Professional (CWP), Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or similar designation.
Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make action-oriented recommendations based on data.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects while maintaining deadlines
Excellent communication skills (listens, speaks, and writes well)
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Power Point.
