Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety (HSE) Coordinator to join our team for a major project in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a related industry with direct HSE experience. You will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of safety programs, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a significant project while fostering a culture of safety and collaboration.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in conducting and identifying when project-specific training is required, which may include weekly training topics, hazard-specific training, and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP).Participate in and provide information for HSE meetings.Provide the project team with project-specific information and statistics to develop trends and assist with the creation of trend action plans.Conduct and document project HSE inspections.Verify that corrective actions are implemented.
Essential Skills5-10 years' experience in a related industry with direct HSE experience.Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation.Ability to implement HSE processes.Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility.Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.Effective communication and presentation skills.Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technologies.Additional Skills & QualificationsResiding in Vancouver or within the area is preferred.Postsecondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) is considered an asset.Safety designation such as NCSO, CRSP, or CHST are considered an asset.Work Environment
You will work on-site in Vancouver, BC, within a collaborative and safety-focused team environment. The role involves regular site inspections and monitoring to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Standard PPE will be required, and you will assist in the implementation of emergency response plans and environmental compliance. The position demands effective communication and the ability to influence and work with various stakeholders.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
