Essential Responsibilities:
Oversee and implement HS&E plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standardsConduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategiesCreate and maintain Project-Specific Safety Plans (PSSP) aligned with company HS&E programsConduct regular safety performance reports for senior managementMonitor health and safety data to identify trends and recommend continuous improvement initiativesImplement control measures to minimize risksAdvise management on strategies to enhance safety culture, align HS&E with operational goals, and meet client requirementsProvide guidance and mentorship to safety teams, operational staff, and direct reports to build HS&E capabilitiesDesign and deliver employee training on safety protocols and ensure knowledge retentionLead incident investigations and assist with implementing corrective actions to address systemic safety issuesEnsure compliance with rail safety regulations and with local, state, and federal health and safety regulationsMonitor and audit trade partners to uphold HS&E performance standardsFoster a workplace culture prioritizing health, safety, and environmental responsibilityQualifications:
7+ years of experience in infrastructure or a related industry, with a strong understanding of safety practicesCertificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; CRSP, CSO, or NCSO designation is an assetExperience within a rail safety program or prior experience within rail projects would be preferredTechnical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipmentExceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the workforceProactive approach to safety, including identifying issues and implementing solutionsProven experience in risk assessment, program development, training, and incident investigationProficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the ability to adapt communication styles to various audiencesStrong team player who can manage changing priorities and demands effectivelyValid provincial driver’s license and clean driver’s abstractWork Conditions:
