About the role

Our Solvay Poland team consists of 80 employees and is part of the international chemical company Solvay. We are a producer of highly dispersible silica used for many applications, including the production of car tires. As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for the Health and Safety area and Environmental Protection. You will have the opportunity to contribute to sustainable development and have a positive impact on the natural environment, while creating conditions for business and societal development. You will be accountable for: Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and the Solvay Group standards in the terms of health, safety, and environmental protection. Defining and enforcing the plant's safety and environmental policy requirements in accordance with the Solvay Group standards. Defining, implementing, and continuously improving the health and safety principles within the plant. Improving employee awareness regarding work safety. Continuously improving the Environmental Management System according to the ISO 14001 standard. Supervising and coordinating the work of the subordinate team and contractors in the Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection area. Managing projects related to health and safety and environmental protection and participating in projects aimed at improving and enhancing the supervised area. Managing equipment, resources, and devices related to health and safety and environmental protection. Supervising the preparation of documentation and obtaining necessary permits. Reporting data concerning health, safety, and environmental protection. Managing the department's budget. Overseeing waste management, water consumption, wastewater, dust and gas emissions. Being responsible for overseeing employee health and safety and fire protection training. We offer a full time permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you

Relevant education degree or equivalent in Health and Safety and Environmental Protection or completed postgraduate studies in Health and Safety and Environmental Protection. Relevant work experience of at least 5 years in a similar position—preferably in the chemical industry. Competencies: Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards. Good level of English skills Experience in conducting internal and external audits and in developing procedures and instructions. Knowledge of health and safety and environmental protection indicator reporting principles. Behaviors: Planning and organizing work. Goal orientation, work discipline, and consistency in action. Information seeking and problem-solving. Diligence and conscientiousness. Cooperation and flexible approach to changes.

 

About the pay and benefits

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Poland base pay reasonably expected for this role is 16,000 PLN gross/month to 20,000 PLN gross/month, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
