SUMMARY\n

Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Operations Specialist compiles and maintains records concerned with ordering and storing. The Operations Specialist issues and receives shipping materials, supplies and equipment to maintain inventory for all Crystal Stairs Head Start\/Early Head Start CCP sites. Responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling purchase orders, and keeping warehouse stocked with essential equipment.\n
\n

RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nReceives, stores, and distributes equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, perishables, or tools, and compiles stock records in warehouse \nCounts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices. \nStores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size, or type of material \nFills orders or distributes supplies from stock \nPrepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock\nRequisitions articles to fill incoming orders or inventory \nExamines stock to verify conformance to specifications\nWorks with various vendors to ensure that site needs are addressed in a timely manner.\nCompiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.\n\n
\n

KNOWLEDGE\n\nMust have knowledge of purchasing and inventory control processes. \nBasic computer skills with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.\n\n
\n

COMPETENCIES\n\nAbility to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively. \nMust have strong attention to detail with strong organizational skills. \nRequires excellent customer relations, excellent phone etiquette skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups. \nAbility to use a forklift to move\/store inventory.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.\n\n
\n

EDUCATION\n

High School graduate or equivalent G.E.D. is required; some college preferred.\n
\n

EXPERIENCE\n

1 year of direct experience in purchasing or inventory control required, with experience working in a warehouse or an inventory control setting.\n
\n

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\n

Valid California Driver's License, reliable vehicle, automobile insurance and a clean driving record required. Forklift certification is a plus.\n
\n
