HSBC Wholesale Technology is currently seeking a high calibre professional for the role ofHead of WCL Technology and Center Head - Wholesale Technology, Mexico (reporting to Head of WCL Technology - MD) to manage and run the teams based in our Mexico tech center and partner with a diverse group of stakeholders including Wholesale Technology leadership, Regional Leads, key vendors, and wider HSBC Technology Mexico (HTM) Leadership teams.

As Head of Wholesale Technology Mexico, the role holder will provide local entity leadership for 100 Wholesale technology permanent staff and contingent resources based in Mexico that provide critical development and support capabilities to globally aligned delivery teams. The role-holder plays a critical role supporting their peers on the Wholesale Technology ExCo by ensuring the effective operation and on-going transformation of their Mexico based teams in line with the Wholesale Technology strategy.

Successful incumbent should act like a trusted advisor offering advice/support to Head of WCL Technology - MD, building a cohesive Mexico team that complements the matrix organization

As the Center Head of Wholesale teams based in Mexico, the role holder will be responsible for –

· Aligning capacity and skills with the Wholesale technology strategy, driving innovation, and overseeing the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions with a tight control around Cost, Schedule and Quality aspects

· Actively collaborate with wider technology horizontals and the wholesale value streams to manage Architecture Design, DevOps Standards Tools, Engineering, Application Support and IT Management Services.

· Work with all stake holders to make HSBC/HTM a great employer of Choice and Operationally brilliant (Global/HTM/OpCo Metrics)

· Communicating effectively with respective Orgs on HSBC/HTM Level Policies /Guidelines and managing employee sentiment

· Building a world class Engineering Team in HTM having a diverse and empowered culture that provides outstanding learning and career development opportunities for our colleagues.

· Talent Management: Responsible for direct cost, headcount management, and annual planning for in-country teams. Considers location / timezone strategy in demand planning.

· Managing internal job posting (IJP) process, Pay Promotions for Wholesale Technology colleagues.

· Proactively managing attrition for both perm and non-perm staff and building a culture of recognition to increase retention across all service lines.

· Primary accountability for GSVs and PSLs and regular partnership and liaison with vendors on platforms and products in Mexico Tech Centre

· Ensures in-country Ways of working including Hybrid working are current; Wellbeing, Work/life balance are top of the agenda and contribute to the Mexico leaderboard on Employee Snapshot survey

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

· Experienced senior technology executive with a proven track record of delivering complex global solutions and deployment in regions and markets in demanding timeframes.

· Experience of setting-up and managing large Teams in Global Tech Centres, running multi-project, multi-stakeholder programs in a matrix organization

· 15 years’ technical experience working within a major technology orientated organisation

· Strong knowledge of technology architecture and excellent understanding of software development methodologies such as SDLC, Agile DevOps

· Very strong technology background with an understanding of emerging technology trends.

· Proven people and project management skills in global cross cultural environment.

· Management of business relationships globally to ensure and maintain relevance and appropriateness of IT strategy to emerging business priorities

· Communication and engagement skills are critical to the success of the role. The successful candidate will carry a strong professional presence with the ability to engage and communicate throughout the breadth and depth of the organization.

· Ability to influence senior stakeholders, negotiating effectively, and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations

· Ability to provide technical and conceptual thought leadership, successfully navigate areas of ambiguity and stakeholder disagreement to achieve required outcomes
