Head of Transfer Pricing, International Tax & Planning

The Head of Transfer Pricing, International Tax & Planning will oversee the Group’s International Tax, Transfer Pricing (‘TP’) and M&A Tax strategy, including TP policies and global TP compliance. Reporting to the Head of Global Tax (part of the Finance Leadership Team under the Group CFO), this role is key in implementing JM’s Finance and Tax Transformation strategy.

You will drive the Group’s Target Tax Operating Model, improving and automating processes while providing guidance and support. As part of Global Tax’s Leadership team, you will influence its development and collaborate with stakeholders to create and protect value.

With a strong background in international tax, transfer pricing, and M&A within a complex multinational, you bring expertise in tax transformation, governance for listed groups, and a technology-driven approach to optimisation.

In this role you will:

Design, review, and implement transfer pricing policies and ensure global compliance with TP Documentation regulations, responding to BEPS Pillar One and Two initiatives.Partner with JM’s Business Units to align tax strategies with commercial goals, manage withholding tax and permanent establishment risks, and build strong relationships across Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Supply Chain teams.Lead the renewal of Advanced Pricing Agreements (APAs) in the US, India, and Poland, guide decisions on new APAs, and support international tax and TP audits and MAP applications.Support M&A and strategic initiatives and develop efficient cross-border tax structures and legal entity rationalisation aligned with business strategy.Collaborate with Finance teams in Lithuania to design and implement operational transfer pricing controls, drive automation, and support TP compliance.Support the Group Tax Reporting processes impacted by international tax and TP matters.

Key requirements:

ACA and/or CTA (or international equivalent) qualification with significant experience in international taxation, transfer pricing, and UK corporate tax.

Proven ability to identify and mitigate tax and transfer pricing risks, implement policies in complex organizations, and drive process improvements and transformation.

Experience in FTSE 250 commercial environments preferred; candidates from public practice with strong commercial aptitude considered.

Strong technology skills, including proficiency in tax IT systems, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience managing budgets and driving value in multinational businesses.

Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and manage large portfolios.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic and influential approach, ability to work independently and in teams, and a drive for quality and transformation.
