Head of Tax Mexico

Main activities of the role:


Responsible for the activities of the following areas:


o Tax Compliance Optimization
Manage all Tax compliance obligations for the HSBC Group entities (Bank, Insurance, Brokage House, GSC,Asset Management and Real Estate entities). Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Taxes, and other taxobligations.
o Tax Reporting
Review and prepare Quarterly and Annual reporting of HSBC Group entities for Group reporting purposes.Current and Deferred Tax position for Local GAAPs and IFRS, Effective Tax Rate reconciliation andUncertain Tax Positions.
o Tax Controversy
Coordinate the tax audits process with the Tax Authorities and lead discussions with the Tax Authorities.
o Tax Advisory
Provide proper and timely tax advisory to the Line of Business (LOB) and Functions.
o Tax Risk
Manage the Tax Risk of the Tax Function as well as the tax risk of the different services and products of theLOB and Functions
o Transfer Pricing
Manage all transfer pricing obligations regarding to transactions with foreign related parties, includingtransfer pricing advisory to the LOBs and Functions.
o Tax Customers matters
Coordinate and supervise activities with LOBs and Functions to properly issue the CFDIs to the customers.Coordinate and supervise the proper reporting of the Customers information to the Tax Authorities
o FATCA/CRS
Supervise the proper compliance of the FATCA and CRS obligations to the Tax AuthoritiesProvide advisory regarding to FATCA/CRS obligations.
o Digital Transformation
Supervise and lead activities to implement initiatives to automate process and working process.Implementing data analytics activities.

Major Challenges

• Give continuity to the initiatives to create a SOFOM, as well as continue with the improvement of processes.
• Operations with related parties and follow up on new policies on tax regulations.
• Promote teamwork with peers within the Finance Function.

Qualifications Experience

• Desirable Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economic Areas.
• Desirable M.D. in Taxes.
• 10 years of experience in Tax, specially in banking or financial institutions.
• Knowledge and experience in advisory, compliance and accountant taxes.
Strong Skills
• Analytical skills and decision-making abilities.
• Planning, organisation skills, negotiation skills, ability to influence people and effective communication.
• Numerical skills and the ability to evaluate costs.
• English skills - written and oral.
• Ability to handle performance management of employees to achieve the goals of the area and business.
• Leadership and supervise skills for constantly changing risk environment.
