Head of Sales

This role is responsible for driving the sales and business development of Manulife Labuan’s (MILL) HNW business, distributing our USD HNW insurance products via partner banks , Brokers as well as other channels.

Position Responsibilities:

Drive & deliver MILL sales targets

Nurture & develop distribution relationships, with distribution partners’ management staff as well as key sales staff / referrers to generate sales & referrals

Training & coaching of distribution partners’ sales staff, including supporting client events, joint sales and/or customer engagement (where needed)

Manage & engage internal stakeholders (e.g. product, pricing, underwriting, operations) in case management, particularly as it relates to complex cases which may require custom pricing and/or special considerations to get the case issued

With support from Partnership Distribution Development team, design and execute sales campaigns and operationalization of distribution partners’ requirements

With support from other departments, responsible for hand-holding & case management for complex cases, including securing internal approvals for custom pricing, underwriting requirements etc.

Coach and develop team

Required Qualifications:

Degree in Business or any discipline

Preferably with minimum 10 years in sales management role in the financial services industry, preferably in the HNW segment and/or serving HNW/affluent customers

Ideally having experience working with/for HNW brokers

Strong product & technical knowledge in HNW propositions & distribution, with high willingness to adapt and learn

Individual with leadership and management experience in leading a team

Evidence of strong communication skills, conceptual thinking skills, planning/project planning & management skills

Self-motivated and ability to work independently with high sensitivity to timelines

Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Financial Planner (CFP), RFP and other relevant certifications would be advantageous but not required
