Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed develop processes that will maximize stewardship safety quality and productivity
Duties and responsibilities
Factory Planning
Plan organize direct and run optimum daytoday operations to exceed our customers expectations
Deliver &lsquoRetail Ready&rsquo product in accordance with Quality Standards as set by Quality Assurance protocol
Increase production assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
Be responsible for production output product quality and ontime delivery to Warehouse
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
Reporting and Procedures
Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
Commit to plant safety procedures
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
Talent management
Build a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit manage and develop plant staff
Address employees issues or grievances
Influence and learn from below
Mentor and coach staff to identify training needs and improve overall skill levels
Drive the employee engagement strategy to ensure employees are motivated effectively and to reduce annual attrition rates
Ensure adequate and appropriate departmental infrastructure is in place to deliver against KPI&rsquos and to ensure optimal operational efficiency
In other function as may be required by Supervisor
Requirements
Matric
Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain and/or Finance is preferred
SAGE would be advantageous
3 years Plant Manager experience
5 years Plant Supervisor Foreman experience
Proven managerial experience
Must know business operating system within manufacturing and bill of material modules
Production of metals experience
Oversee a minimum of 2 operational sites
Familiarity with industry standard equipment
Technical expertise
Safety quality productivity demand creation inventory and stewardship processes
Knowledge of business and management principles budgeting strategic planning resource allocation and human resources
Additional requirements
Valid RSA driver&rsquos license
Willing to travel internationally
Possess a valid passport at all times
No flying or travel restrictions health or legal
High energy levels and focus
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular consistent and punctual attendance
Advanced Skills and Experience in
Effectively communicating and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure this success and contribution to business KPIs
Excel formulas pivot tables data extraction and formatting
Investigate unusual variances and advise as to actions
In depth understanding and hands on experience
All materials available for production
Assisting with buying plan
Understanding of Retail Math and Numeracy
Ensure safety of staff and environment
Concisely communicate with varying levels of employees and management
