Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 10 years of experience in program or project management.
+ 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.
+ Experience with any of the following: site selection for high-technology, industrial-scale projects, real estate evaluation, acquisition, development, and construction.
+ Experience in technical program management, with emphasis on quantitative analysis decision support.
Preferred qualifications:
+ MBA, Master's degree, or other advanced degree.
+ 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
+ Experience in financial modeling, infrastructure or real estate asset classes, or portfolio management.
+ Ability to develop, articulate, and gain buy-in for long-term strategic growth plans, effectively communicating context to stakeholders to directly shape team focus and resource prioritization.
As Google's products and services expand globally, the Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) team works dynamically behind the scenes to deliver the vital infrastructure capacity required for our rapidly growing portfolio. Within ELS, the Cloud and Asset Portfolio Solutions (CAPS) team focuses on strategic planning and portfolio management. We help to determine where, why, and how much infrastructure Google needs to scale seamlessly into the future. CAPS manages this complex portfolio and provides the strategies, programs, and tools that enable our regional negotiation and execution teams to consistently make high-quality, large-scale decisions faster and with less risk, directly supporting Google's business needs.
As the Head of Portfolio Planning and Analytics, you will provide critical leadership, enabling ELS to strategically manage its complex infrastructure portfolio and navigate uncertainty with data-driven insights. You will own and drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of sophisticated portfolio planning and risk management frameworks, tools, and processes, ensuring direct alignment with Google's overarching business strategy and objectives.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Own the development and management of a comprehensive ELS portfolio planning framework that integrates forecasting, demand management, financial planning, and a robust risk evaluation process for identifying, assessing, reporting, and escalating portfolio risks (market, geopolitical, etc.).
+ Provide critical portfolio insights by creating and maintaining dashboards and reports that track progress, utilization health, and key metrics (e.g., underutilization costs). Use this data to drive operational optimization and demand steering, while leveraging the analytics to shape long-term supply strategies and roadmaps for a dynamic, capacity-aligned future portfolio.
+ Conduct scenario planning and what-if analyses to assess potential impacts on the portfolio and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
+ Own the creation of the data-driven strategic plan for new powered assets, translating complex insights into requirements (what, where, when) and the compelling business rationale (why).
