Position Summary:

This position will focus on enhancing basketball skills, physical conditioning, IQ, and overall performance on the court. This role involves creating personalized training plans, analyzing performance, and working closely with coaching staff to maximize each player’s potential and contribution to the team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Design and implement individualized and group training sessions to improve players’ basketball skills (e.g., shooting, ball handling, passing, reading situations, and defense).Analyze game film to identify areas for improvement and provide targeted drills to address deficiencies.Work with players to develop position-specific skills and expand their versatility.Collaborate with the coaching staff to design pre-game and practice routines as well as in-game strategies tailored to individual player needs.Coordinate with athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach to enhance players’ fitness, endurance, and injury prevention.Support mental preparedness by using frequent communication, encouraging focus, confidence, and resilience during practice and competition. (encourage use of mental health resources if needed)Regularly review game and practice footage to assess player progress and refine training programs. (e.g., monthly check-ins with players and staff)Assist in developing offensive and defensive game plans by focusing on player strengths and exploiting opponent weaknesses.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with head coaches, assistant coaches, and trainers to ensure alignment in player development goals.Share insights on player readiness, workload management, and potential contributions during games.Communicate with player development staff to ensure alignment and meet collaborative goals. 

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s DegreeMust have at least 3+ years of experience in the field of athlete trainingExcellent interpersonal skillsIn lieu a Degree and previously mentioned experience, 6+ years of professional or college basketball playing or coaching experience may be considered

Training Requirements:

Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Manager Training coursesUnderstanding of Time & Attendance system and Manager Self Service systems

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to be on the court working out with professional basketball playersMust be able to travel with, and on behalf of the teamMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
