We are looking for a Head of Patient Engagement & Advocacy – Immunology who is strategic, collaborative, and passionate to join us in our Patient Engagement & Advocacy team, based preferably in our UCB headquarters office in Brussels, Belgium or other relevant hub

 

About the role
As the Head of Patient Engagement & Advocacy (PE&A) – Immunology, you will drive and oversee the global PE&A strategies for multiple UCB assets. You’ll work with both internal teams and external patient stakeholders to champions patient-informed decision-making and positively influence the patient environment throughout the entire lifespan of therapies.

 

Who you’ll work with
You will be part of the Global Patient Engagement & Advocacy team working in a matrix environment with cross-functional teams including colleagues in Patient Evidence, Patient Solutions, and Patient Impact. Externally, you will build partnerships with patients and their caregivers, patient advocacy groups, delivering on global patient engagement & advocacy strategies aligned with UCB’s therapeutic goals. You will also provide PE&A leadership across diverse UCB teams and contribute to development of the high performing UCB PE&A team.

 

What you’ll do
• Oversee the global Patient Engagement & Advocacy strategy across multiple UCB assets.
• Generate, integrate and disseminate patient insights and evidence to support patient-informed decision making.
• Collaborate with regional & local teams to support local Patient Engagement & Advocacy strategies.
• Build strong relationships with patient communities, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders.
• Represent UCB at international conferences, advancing PE&A strategies aligned with UCB therapeutic area priorities.
• Lead a team of Patient Engagement & Advocacy professionals, providing coaching and development.

 

Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills
• Bachelor's degree (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in the healthcare sector: in patient engagement and advocacy; and/or in public or corporate affairs, previous experience in immunology  (dermatology and/or rheumatology) would be preferred
• Expertise in navigating complex regulatory and compliance issues in biopharmaceuticals.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with senior leadership audiences.
