Job DescriptionLegal appointment GCC Engineer (Factories) OHS ACT 1993. Applicable Machinery Regulations / Pressure Vessels etc.
Legal Registers (Engineering Registers): Quarterly and Annual Legal Registers, relating to grinders, lifting gear, lifting cages, ladders (portable & fixed), platforms and walkways, racking, lifting machines, lifting tackle, cherry pickers, goods hoist, air power tools, gas welding equipment, portable electrical equipment, hand tools, safety equipment, monthly safety register checks for all safety devices and/or emergency devices on all Machines.
Legal Requirements, ensuring maintenance plans exist and carry out work as required, relating to stack maintenance (emissions to atmosphere), ventilation systems (natural air movement), extraction system maintenance (extraction velocities), pressure vessel maintenance, annual pneumatic exhaust silencer audits, illumination (lighting) systems maintenance, flameproof equipment surveys and maintenance, factory water fountain filters and maintenance, noise surveys and maintenance, lifting equipment load testing and service reports.
Participates in pre-engineering and planning of major maintenance and shutdown work with main focus on product quality
Oversee equipment standardisation and compliance with Central Engineering Machine and Equipment Specification (MES)
Directs, administrates and develops sustainable quality improvement projects
Manage and allocate the available resources to the activities & task
Lead the team according to Continental’s leadership principles
Initiates and carries out maintenance projects that improve product quality and reduce scrap.
Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines with main focus on product quality
QualificationsDegree/ Diploma Electrical/Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering
GCC is mandatory
1 to 3 Years experience in the Tyre and Rubber industry, proven ability to manage people and other engineering resources as well as analyse, problem solve and take decisive corrective action. Cost management and knowledge of pricing procedures for quoting/ tendering.
Minimum 8 years experience in Engineering projects and or maintenance
Experience in the leading / managing of a medium to large group of employees
